Nicole is a keen explorer of New Zealand’s underwater world. She has established marine citizen science projects in the Marine Reserve and Wellington Harbour and works with volunteers to collect baseline data to inform marine management. Education and public engagement for biodiversity protection and habitat restoration are key components of Nicole’s work.
Dr Nicole Miller is Chair of the Friends of Taputeranga Marine Reserve Trust; Wellington Underwater Club President; Wellington Reef Life Survey & Project Baseline Project Manager; trained PADI OWSI, GUE Tech 1 and PSAI certified cave diver; a member of the Wellington Caving Group/NZSS; a passionate science communicator and environmental educator; and a #CrittersofWellington and #loverimurimu (seaweed) geek.
